What class is actually like

A guided conversation, not a philosophy lecture.

We begin by grounding and checking in with the previous week’s practice. Then we explore one chapter together and bring it into real situations: communication, anxiety, boundaries, relationships, work, family, and the stories we tell ourselves.

You can share what came up, listen to how others are working with the same principle, ask questions, and notice the blind spots that are difficult to see alone.

The point is not to master an idea. It is to recognize how the idea is already living in you.

Real-life practice

Bring what is present

Weekly homework becomes the starting point for honest discussion about what happened in your actual life.

Clearer seeing

Separate truth from judgment

Learn to speak from what you know while noticing projection, assumption, and the ego’s need to be right.

Connected learning

Let the principles build

Nonviolence supports truthfulness. Truthfulness changes how we understand nonstealing. Each week deepens the last.

What we study

Ten practices for seeing yourself and your life more clearly.

The Yamas help us examine how we meet the world. The Niyamas turn that same attention inward.

The Yamas | Restraints

How we meet the world

  • AhimsaNonviolence
  • SatyaTruthfulness
  • AsteyaNonstealing
  • BrahmacharyaRight use of energy
  • AparigrahaNonattachment

The Niyamas | Observances

How we meet ourselves

  • SauchaClarity and purity
  • SantoshaContentment
  • TapasDiscipline
  • SvadhyayaSelf-study
  • Ishvara PranidhanaSurrender

The practices do not exist in isolation. They build on one another and reveal different parts of the same pattern.

The weekly rhythm

Read it. Talk about it. Find it in your life. Practice again.

The series is designed to move each principle out of the book and into the way you live.

Ground

Arrive, breathe, and make room for what is present.

02

Share
